[Paleopsych] is evolutionary change stockpiled?

Could be that genes think.  I'm fairly certain bacteria 
and such also cogitate.  But like non humans, they all 
adapt to their environment.  Only humans have the 
ability to use their thinking power to transform their 
living space...be it for good or bad.  I should also 
add that humans, because they don't adapt, are the 
reason our environment is in such a horrible state. 
And because of us (the humans) our environment  will be 
destroyed.
