Well, it looks like their may be a breakthrough in the
understanding of obesity.  When one has a lot of fat
cells or the fat cells are "full" they release leptin
to tell your brain to stop eating.  However(!) it
looks like if you have high triglycerides they
prevent the leptin from reaching the brain where
they can do their job.  Interestingly, there are
supposed to be drugs that can lower triglycerides
(though I don't know what they are).

I don't know if anyone would want to start taking these drugs
before they work things out a bit more but it may be worth
taking the above page to your physician and seeing if they
would be willing to try it.
