[extropy-chat] deaths due to low temperatures

If we eventually decide that global warming is due
primarily to human activity, then would we not become
collectively liable for the perennial human deaths 
caused by cold temperatures?  It would be humanity's
fault, since we theoretically had the means to prevent
the proles from freezing, yet failed to do so.
