I wonder what would happen if you released several thousand tons of biodegradable vegetable oil into the ocean in the path of the hurricane. All that oil should hinder evaporation (if the heavy wave action doesn't disrupt the slick too much) and evaporation is the life blood of hurricanes. John K Clark jonkc at att.net
