[extropy-chat] A liquid that freezes when heated

Used in conjunction with wax or some plastics (which melt above
certain temperatures), you'd think there could be casting applications
for this material, especially if it's solid forming temperature is
lower than the wax/plastic melting point.

Fire sprinkler systems often use fuzible links to open the valves
above a certain temperature - independent of any external power. I can
see biotech labs with culture media with the reverse requirement, a
"too cool" alarm system.



 
It freezes when heated, and when cooled, melts. Pretty neat.
