http://www.arxiv.org/abs/gr-qc/0503099 which seems even more impressive.
It uses the same concept, that we are embedded in a super bubble that
is expanding, has no parameters(!) and supposedly "passes cosmological
tests with flying colors", including the age of the universe and the
luminosity-distance relation that is conventionally interpreted as
pointing to dark energy.
