The problem with google is that if you search on, say, "big bang
theory" you get around 5 million hits, including much junk, with many
sites telling you that the big bang theory is wrong.

Evolution gets over 200 million hits with much junk about the
"so-called" evolution controversy.

I would suggest you start with some sort of science encyclopedia.
Try your local library.  :)

As a start online, you can use
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page>

and search for the items you are interested in. Their articles are
usually pretty good, though some controversial articles have been
badly damaged.

<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_bang> seems ok.
Also <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution>
