[extropy-chat] transhumans in fiction

A topic that comes up here now and then is early uses of "transhuman" 
in the sense we accept. I just stumbled upon a rather good 1978 sf 
anthology, introduced by cryonics pioneer Robert Ettinger and edited 
by my upstate New York pal Jack Dann (who now lives in Australia), 
titled IMMORTAL: Short Novels of the Transhuman Future (Harper & 
Rowe). Stories by Tom Disch, Gene Wolfe, Pam Sargent and Gene 
Zebrowski. Nearly 30 years ago...
