I concur.  (Though with me it's snarling and thinking---but I like them
very much anyway.)  Can an exception be literally incorporated into
the list rules?  "Rants are, in general, forbidden except in the case of
Jeff Davis, so long as they continue to be as well written and clever
as was the case in 2007-2008."
