I think people get so enamored with futurism that they forget presentism:
fusion isn't here yet.  It's still experimental, and what I call over the
horizon technology.  Not that it is *just* over the horizon, but that we
really don't know how far away it is, nor do we know if it is there at all.
All we know is that they've been putting incredible resources into
developing it and, I'm hopeful, but I think it deserves less confidence than
*proven* technology.
