<What?! Does this imply that in the US one can be *forcibly* committed 
<to rehab *involuntarily* for *fucking around too much*???

<Or is "did so voluntarily" just some journalist's ignorance 
<(conflating sex outside marriage with being a drug or booze abuser 
<subject to such a legal order), or yellow press mischief making? 

Definitely journalist's lack of consideration or tact, but also to clarify
that there was no court order, which is crucial for a celeb when things go
public: 

*If an intervention occurs, the "offender" is given the option of
voluntarily committing him/herself.  But if the offender is in denial and
is a clearly indicated threat to himself or society while under the
influence -- then family/friend can obtain a court order to get the
offender in rehab involuntarily.
