What I was responding to was this blunt statement from John:

"I freely admit I see no further reason any
intelligent man should waste any time with such nonsense."

Given that I've recently published a book on the topic, arguing that 
psi has to be taken seriously, I think John's declaration can be 
fairly paraphrased as "Damien is an idiot."
