Yours is a good example, but there are plenty of others.  If you have the
stomach for it, read over the OT book of Joshua.  I find it remarkable that
Judaism, Christianity, and Islam never expunged this kind of material from
their holy books.  I do still recall stumbling onto it in my misspent youth,
early teens, and being shocked as all hell that that stuff was in the bible.
