The words that were mine were in the square brackets. All the others 
-- including the one you quoted as mine -- were by Egan or the 
interviewer. Sorry, I could have made that more obvious.

I don't have the word "transhuman" and disgree with Egan. I find it 
peculiar that he thinks the word is so repellent, rather than some of 
the disturbing scenarios he writes.
