How can that be? Take the medical details of cryonics,
for example. I wish that I were more interested in it!
Alas, along with many other things (e.g. meteorology,
geology, crime & crime prevention, auto mechanics, etc.,
etc.), it's just so happened that I've had very little
intrinsic interest. Why could I be so interested in,
say, writing computer programs, and be so uninterested
in medicine and medical procedures that could save my
life???

Well, were I placed in a cell for a year with nothing
to read except manuals on these subjects, and nothing
to do except little experiments having to do with them,
then SURELY you will agree that caffeine and---as you
assert, amphetamines---would make *all the difference
in the world* in how enjoyable that year was. Right?

Of course, as I understand it, there could be some pretty
bad side-effects from the amphetamines, depending on my
physical and psychological response, and I might be unlucky
and not have a disposition that handles them well. Correct?

Thanks,
Lee
