Perhaps you are more likely to be mugged or murdered on public
transport, but you are more likely to *die or be seriously injured* in
a car. Nevertheless, people feel safer in cars because they think they
have more control. It's irrational. Would you rather have your wallet
stolen at knifepoint or your chest crushed by the steering column?
