I'm checking back quite late considering the flurry of activity on
this thread.  For the record I got (and appreciated) your sarcasm in
the message to which F.C. Moulton replied.

Keith's reply to clarify the "hanging offense" comment also corrected
my thinking.

If racially insensitive language offends you (the general you /
anyone) then is inherently gender insensitive language any better or
worse?  How far down the road to Newspeak is an improvement and how
far is too far?

Maybe this idea is going off-topic; if so, consider it merely rhetorical.
