Spike, grab yourself a nice Android phone (I'm using a Nexus One), and
go to http://appinventor.googlelabs.com/ . Playing with accelerometers
(and compass, cameras, webby stuff, sms, phone calls, speech to text,
etc etc etc) becomes, literally, child's play.
