Yes but don't forget Memristors. In 1971 Leon Chua conceived of and analyzed them mathematically as the forth basic circuit element after resistors, capacitors, and inductors. At the time the only thing Chua could find that actually behaved like a Memristor was the synapse  of a brain cell, but in 2008 HP figured out how to make them with a thin film of Titanium
 Dioxide. HP plans to have the first Memristor based products on the market by 2013.
