But do they *exist* in the first place? Aren't you a little too quick
in conceding this point?

I would be hard pressed to find anybody actually advocating "coercive
life-extension", or "coercive enhancement", eg.

The closest thing I can imagine is those who resist deaf parents' wish
to select deliberately deaf embryos through pre-implantation
diagnosis. And while the jury may still be out on the subject I am not
sure that the majority of "expert transhumanists" are ready to
repudiate it without a second thought.
