Well said Stefano.  I see the entire debate as a good thing really: it
causes the proletariat to think at least a little about science.  Sputnik
did that.  Our current trouble with government in the US causes the citizens
to think about the constitution.  Global warming theory causes people to
notice nature just a bit.  It is a good thing for the masses to look at how
science works and how government works.
