Well, speaking on behalf of us brains in vats, I don't know why he is
complaining.

It is very comfortable in here. Nice and cosy, with plenty of
delicious nutrient fluid.
I don't have to go to work every day, or worry about going bald, or
that nagging toothache.

I know I must be amazingly attractive as I have great sex every night.
My adventures are similar to Star Trek, where I travel the universe,
meet aliens and either beat them up or have sex with them. I must
admit that it seems I usually end up having sex with them, even if
they are green and, well, a bit tentacle-y.

I do get disturbed occasionally by strange substances in my nutrient
fluids and electrical impulses into my pleasure centres, but that's
fine by me! There are also sometimes strange contacts that seem to be
queries about the Meaning of Life, but they are easily ignored. After
all, they're obviously not real. Just figments of my imagination.
