Sex is in the odd position (ha ha) of having everything to do with
existence as a DNA lifeform, but seemingly (to some) nothing to do with
existence as a theoretical consciousness; which is an arbitrary act that
one might think could be eschewed in a transhuman scheme, but is so fun and
such an alleviator of existential stress that it can be hard to imagine
existence without it.

It is a contradiction, and contradictions are humor.  It is certainly a
funny thing.  And it certainly improves the bearability of consciousness.
