The data just doesn't support the claim made by the right that an advanced
industrial country in the 21'th century can't afford to give medical care
to its population.

Congress won't even let Medicare negotiate drug prices, and so those are
much cheaper in Canada and elsewhere.  No doubt other health companies are
getting sweet deals too.  And read books by Atul Gawande on inexplicable
price differences between hospitals, etc.
