Gun confiscation is the right wing's nightmare.  I never have been able to
buy this one.  I see no evidence that it could occur here.  Politicians are
deathly afraid of the NRA.  It just makes no sense to me.  Even East  Coast
liberals don't support confiscation (which would destroy their credibility
with just about everyone), just strong laws concerning ownership.

Trying to take away guns would alarm everyone, who would think "What's
next?"

Even if it started, people would hide guns. I think it would be an
impossibility to take away most of our guns.
