Good point, Adrian.  The politics should be applicable worldwide, such as
the lack of water is also a global concern.  If it's just national politics
we can ban that. Posts ranting about good or evil Americans are pointless
to the lost group.   Basic question:  what are we willing to do to get
those quality people back?  Anything at all?  Give up some content to get
quality posters seems like a no-brainer to me.
