[ExI] home defense

In my town, and also where I lived in Florida, Castle Doctrine was only for shoot-to-kill. If you were not trying to kill them it’s 10 years for discharge or 20 years for injury. Life for murder but 0 for self defense under castle doctrine.

So it’s actually better for you if you kill them. At least here. Might be different in Bluer or Redder places.

But the ones who are caught here are always trying to rob the place, and they get shot or killed more often than the homeowner does.

Someone else had called 911. Mentally handicapped. Harmless. I would have felt extremely guilty if had shot him, much less killed him. I have known many harmless, confused mental patients. I would not have wanted to be one of the people who had killed such a person simply out of my fear. There are too many of those killed by cops.
