This sounds very reasonable. I don't remember where, but I once saw a
physics lecture illustrating the scale of physics, starting out with
what we as humans can observe, and then mapping out the limits of our
most advanced machinery, and it's fascinating how our world has expanded
from our own very limited built in senses, to our machines.
So yes, seems reasonable that everything gets fuzzy around the edges
until we have new and better machinery, to push the edge even further.
