I propose as the objective arbiter of graphic art value, the sales price.  The greatness of the artist then would be a function of total income, which takes into account how long it takes to produce the bijou, which determines how many such masterpieces can be produced and sold.  We judge musicians, actors, writers, all content creators by this standard already.
