Perhaps the developers of nanotech might decide to spread nanotech by
a disease which changes human brains to make them avoid fighting and
attacking other humans?  Both 1984 and Brave New World used drugs to
keep the population happy and under control. Nanotech should be able
to be even more successful at achieving that result.
