I agree with you here, the name is not that bad. I hope it will stick.
I am also participating in the debate on life extension. Discussing this in
a more mainstream forum is interesting: there are already 600 members in the
Bright's forums after two days from the announcement.

It's not looking like they will.  Can't say that I blame them, I don't
think it's that bad a term.

Also on the upside, many familiar faces (including myself) are fighting the
good fight there are spreadin' those LE memes.  Overall, the Brights are
seemingly quite "bright" with regards to indefinite lifespans.
