It doesn't sound like the best option to me. I go to my local city centre
at night very often, but I'm not attacked. No one is. Girls walk alone at
3am without a second thought.
If one wants to avoid dangers associated with criminals, there are two
options:

- hide in your house and set up a good alarm system.
- live in a low crime area

Somehow, I prefer the second.
