[extropy-chat] NANO: cutting nano scale particles in 3D

I ran across a news release that I thought might interest some here.
Researchers at the University of Michigan have created a laser that is capable of cutting just about any material in 3-D at the nano scale. It seems as if they can cut away sections as small as 20 nm, and even do that beneath a surface leaving the surface intact.
