[extropy-chat] Looks like a Kerry victory

This year more than half of the population of the world goes to the voting booth. Even though some countries aren't as democratic as their government would like them to appear, this is still a significant percentage of the globe and more than ever before. Famine is decreasing, average life span is increasing and the world as a whole is getting richer and richer.

Even though bad things are happening, the general trend is that tomorrow will be a better day than today, which is a better day than yesterday.
