Limone, a small town on the Garda Lake, is known 
(also) because in the blood of some inhabitants 
there is a protein which eliminates the cholesterol.
The history of the discovery began in 1979 
when an employee of the state railroads, born in Limone, 
but who had been living in Milan for over 20 years, 
was hospitalised for a check-up. The clinical results 
were astonishing. The levels of patient's 
cholesterol and triglycerides were very high. 
The patient, however, presented neither clinical 
signs nor damages, so the doctors decided for a 
thorough examination.
