I assume you are referring to Ivory Coast?
AFAIK the French have not been killing tens of thousands of people, most 
of them civilians like the US in Iraq.
Neither, for that matter, have the British in Sierra Leone.

If you want the info go get it - it's all on the Net.
Of course, if you are referring to the French colonial period then I'd 
agree.
It was certainly comparable to what the US is doing now.
