It used to be. But the SAT was dramatically dumbed down several 
times. Scores cannot be compared without knowing what year they were 
taken. Several high-IQ organizations will not accept new SAT scores, 
and/or set minimum SAT scores required for admission that depend on 
the year the test was taken. See
