Neurons/brain cells alone do not process consciousness/awareness. The 
complex brain processes are inter-dependent on the different 
structure/physiology of the entire nervous system [spinal cord/nerves 
and brain} plus the other organ system functions i.e. circulatory and 
respiratory system wherein the failure of one system impacts the entire 
organism's consciousness.

These factors determine the nature of your being. No free will or 
magical sauce there.
