When did it become essential to be constantly chatting / emailing /
texting / IMing / blogging to some invisible companion(s), no matter
what else you are supposed to be doing? Nobody thinks any more. We
have become a civilization of gossips.

The changes that occured in decades cannot be accurately predicted like
the weather. Even the weather changes moment to moment and the most we
can do is give an approximate prediction for instance- whether a
volcano will erupt or an earthquake will occur in some approximate time
or date depending on the instrument's level of functioning. Brains and
machine can malfunction any time. Ever heard of Murphy's law?
