No, my fabled artifact would be a Hieronymus Machine coupled to an 
E-Meter mounted on a Dean Drive papered with Zener cards, built from 
instructions published in John W. Campbell's ASTOUNDING SCIENCE 
FICTION magazine in the 1950s.
