You are speaking of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad.  The
demonization and distortion in the US msm -- courtesy of the media
domination by the Israeli lobby -- of all things Iranian, has lead to
this misconception.  He's not a madman, just a politician who speaks
in accord with his cultural idiom.  In any event he does not rule
Iran, and in fact, has little real power.

So for any kind of informed view you should read up on the real Iran,
the real government structure and the real centers of power.
