All this talk of aliens got me thinking, and so a question popped into
my head: "How old," I wondered, "is Gliese 581?"
Googled it. Wikipediaed it. Bingo!

ANSWER: 7-11 billion years.
Whereas our little neighborhood is a mere 4 billion years old.
And of course, Gliese 581 is in the news lately on account of Gliese 581g.
I don't have to tell you where I'm going with this , do I? Hint:
Three to seven billion years head start.
Oh, and by the way, you shouldn't assign military personnel more
credibility than they deserve. At best they live in a bubble, at
worst they're full on Kool-aid junkies. Been there. Seen it.
Generalizations -- particularly worshipful ones -- aren't helpful.
