A rather large number of them can be traced back to George Sorros...
at least the left leaning ones...

As for people on the right being opposed to health care, while there
may have been astroturfing, there is also a legitimate grass roots
objection to the government taking over yet another sector of the
economy... As I am sure there is on the left as well.
