Did you know that this has actually been proposed as a road safety and
traffic efficiency measure?


Superstreet intersections force traffic from smaller roads to turn
right, then u-turn on the larger road, rather than wait for a break in
traffic to make a direct left. That solution may sound like an
inefficient way to get where you’re going, but researchers say that it
moves vehicles through 20% faster, and reduces accidents by 43%.

In sensible countries like the UK, of course, the reverse applies.
First turn left, then u-turn to go right.
