The revolving door "Justice' 'system' (near-chaos) is feral as well. All day I hear stories about probation, parole, community service, paying for classes. The government now charges miscreants for classes to 'correct' them. You know all this, but you might not realize it is a govt-business partnership. And it isn't about punishment, it is worse than that; govt and business simply do not care.
If their own kin get in trouble with the law, someone pulls every string to get them off the hook, however they think everyone else deserves law & disorder.
