Stefano, two things please, first: the song gets all messed up with the
alternative (and clearer) sentence you suggest.  But perhaps more
importantly, the song actually does express the sentiment more precisely for
many of us married guys in its original form.  We see a pretty girl, oh my,
we certainly have eyes for her, eyes all over that as we scan that image at
high rez.  But that's all we have for her, no money for her, no sweet words,
no paws on her, nothing else down there obviously for her; I only have eyes
for you, nothing else, sorry babe, the rest of me is owned by someone else.

 

That puts a whole new spin on that song, does it not?
