That's nothing, in a vault 80 feet below the streets of Manhattan under the
Federal Reserve Bank of New York at 33 Liberty Street there are 6,170 tons
of gold, although much of it belongs to other countries, the USA is just
keeping it safe for them. At its peak in 1973 that vault contained over
12,000 tons of gold, but it's still the largest deposit of gold in the
world.
