[ExI] What happens to US space programs after November?

Spike: "We have a lotta smart guys, such as Elon Musk and our own
Adrian doing commercialization of space. They are the future of
space. Governments stand down, let private industry take over."

I agree in principle. Musk & co are the future of space. But not the
present. At this moment, they must still rely on government support.
They have gone 90 percent of the way, but the remaining 10 percent is
uphill and they need support.

The government should help by buying their services and refraining
from over-regulating.

If the politicians (both democrats and republicans) don't feel that
they are in the driver seat, they'll kill the commercial space
industry in the cradle with over-regulation.

I keep dreaming of grassroots global fundraising initiatives able to
directly raise the money for a Moon mission and settlement, but this
is just a dream atm.
