No, of course not. The hypothalamus and pituitary would be essential 
things to emulate, along with all the hormones they produce and their 
regulatory functions on the brain. I suspect their functions could be 
greatly simplified and still work just as well (mainly because the 
emulated body would be greatly simplified compared to a biological 
body), but that would probably come later. Initial uploads should 
include as much as possible about the brain/body interface, as well as 
the internal workings of the brain.
