I have mixed feelings, but as long as proper action is taken if/when there are a cluster of cases at the factory, I think it’s probably for the best.
On the other hand, I worry about the precedent for ignoring public health officials. What if we really do “get the big one”?
Based on the data, Covid deaths seem to be on the way out. While it’s tempting (for some) to want lockdowns to continue until cases hit 0, it’s simply not reasonable.
I think we are far enough into a downward trend to reliably identify it as a trend and to slowly reopen.
I’m happy to say that all of my doom-saying seems to have failed to come to pass. It feels good!
